Summary

This course is designed for anyone who will be expected to work within the ServiceNow platform and who are new to the ServiceNow ecosystem. During this 3-day interactive training course, participants will learn about many topics and interact with various applications, by navigating the platform and applying their newly acquired knowledge.

Specifically, attendees will learn to:

  • Perform core configuration tasks
  • Work with User Interface (UI) policies, data policies, UI actions, business rules and client scripts
  • Add users, groups and roles
  • Manage data with tables, the configuration management database (CMDB), import sets and update sets
  • Work with two key process applications: Knowledge Base and ServiceNow Service Catalog
  • Create workflow activities and approvals
  • Configure alerts and notifications
  • View upgrade history and status
  • Control system access and data security
  • Create baseline performance metrics
  • Run reports, configure service level agreements (SLAs) and perform instance branding and customization

The course weaves a scenario throughout to present real world, relevant lab exercises. The class features lecture and group discussions, as well as extensive hands‑on practice, delivered in a wide variety of labs, tech talks and an interactive discussion of a comprehensive, real‑world example.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for individuals with 0‑3 months of ServiceNow platform experience.

Prerequisites

The ServiceNow Foundations eLearning course – six modules that introduce the ServiceNow platform and interface.

Certification

Following this course, ServiceNow recommends that attendees have at least two to three months of hands‑on experiences with ServiceNow before attempting the Certification Exam.

The course teaches attendees about administering a ServiceNow system, fine‑tuning features based on organizational needs, and how to improve the user experience. This two‑day course provides hands‑on practice for implementing new workflows, creating Access Controls, and changing system settings.

Best practices around a core set of ServiceNow applications are detailed and applied to course work. Attendees implement workflows and system enhancements to a ServiceNow system that has been in production for approximately six to 12 months.

A combination of course content and lab work helps attendees learn to:

  • Capture class work in Update Sets to understand their purpose and movement
  • Learn how access to data is controlled within the framework of ServiceNow Contextual Security
  • Define Reference Qualifiers that direct the right data to the right users at the right time
  • Implement a Web Services API REST integration and learn about the possible data paths into ServiceNow
  • Coordinate service catalog elements, including user criteria, cart controls, and variables

  • Implement new workflows that use a variety of activities to understand how records are generated from workflows

Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) is a company’s strategy for managing corporate governance, enterprise risk management, and demonstrating corporate compliance. ServiceNow GRC is a suite of applications within the ServiceNow platform to provide timely, comprehensive, and continuous information for auditing, reporting, and compliance purposes. By using the GRC applications (Policy and Compliance, Risk, and Audit) GRC professionals create a scalable compliance program based on their organization’s needs to meet internal and regulatory requirements.

This two‑day, hands‑on course demonstrates how GRC is implemented within the ServiceNow platform and how to use the GRC applications.

Topics include:

  • Create user groups and apply security roles to provide access or implement restrictions

A Service Portal provides an alternative user experience to the standard platform interface. The Service Portal application offers the tools needed to configure, customize, and extend portal components to create an online experience similar to what your users are used to in other consumer products.

During this two‑day interactive training course you learn how to use the Service Portal application to configure, customize, and extend components to create a Service Portal in your own student instance; a safe sandbox.

Participants will:

Are you passionate about front-end development? Are you ready for a career using the latest front-end stack technologies such as Angular, Bootstrap, Gulp, Webpack, and more? Our program is designed to teach developers to be well rounded JavaScript developers with an emphasis on Angular.

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Experienced building web applications with JavaScript, CSS and HTML

  • Strong desire to learn

There are many skills and technologies that are needed, but the main emphasis will be on core and foundational knowledge. A strong foundation will help understand how frameworks like Angular work and how to use those frameworks to build responsive, rich web applications. Key elements of the program are:

  • Understanding of the core fundamentals of Angular
  • Hands on practice in a collaborate environment
